Temple committee members offer sacrifices in the Havan Yagya organized in the temple courtyard. There is a continuous flow of devotees in the temple throughout the day to take the medicine in the form of butter. It is believed that by applying medicine in the form of butter to a skin patient, his skin diseases are cured.
Temple Committee Secretary Ashok Rana said that after Mata Brijashwari Temple Kangra, only Mata Bala Sundari Temple Mullana has the recognition of distributing butter paste as medicine. He told that every year the number of devotees taking medicine in the form of butter is increasing here.
This tradition has been in the temple for the last 12 years. On the occasion of Makar Sakranti in Mata Bala Sundari Mandir Mulana, 3 kg dry fruits and 58 kg butter is mixed in the paste applied on the divine pindi of Mata. Earlier, every year the idol was made in the temple premises with about 31 or 40 kg of butter, but due to the increasing number of people, 61 kg of butter is being used in the temple.
